I have Vicodin and Percocet. Which one is stronger for relieve the pain? My GYN doctor gave me a pre ion for percocet and my dentist gave me pre ion for Vicodin. My have 4 Wisdom tooth and It bother me as hell. Also My husband won't believe me that percocet is way stronger than vicodin. Should i get both of them or just get one?

david b replied: "percocet is stronger, but since you have fibro you could probably get OxyContin, which lasts a lot longer. dont directly ask for OxyContin though because they WILL assume you're a junky and give you nothing. the next step up would be Opana, but theyll never give that to you unless you're dying of cancer or something."

Percocet is a lot more addictive than Vicodin however both can cause dizziness, tiredness, upset the stomach, many more side effects. Don't over take them, they contain tylenol and too much can permanently harm the liver."

Susan replied: "Is it that you had a very difficult extraction? I had what was called a Dry Socket once after an extraction and it was unrelenting throbbing pain. When I went back to the dentist he popped some Oil of Cloves into the hole in my gum and it worked instantly. It is very strong tasting but you could try a few drops on a wad of cotton wool against the sore gum. I wouldn't try getting it right into the hole yourself tho in case you cause more damage."

Oxycodone is said to have a greater potential for abuse, but, to tell you the truth, I personally find that hydrocodone is more potent, milligram for milligram. One of my favorite concoctions is a medication known as hycodan syrup, which is a combination of hydrocodone bitartrate and homatropine hydrobromide. It has the same effect as vicodin, but without the acetaminophen. Awesome stuff!"

Percocet is considered a scedule 2 drug, which means its locked up at the pharmacy, and is in the same class as oxycontin, it has a much higher potental for abuse, Vicodan is a schedule 3 and is still possible to be abused, but its not nearly as strong as percocet is. Usually for something like wisdom teeth that is very painful they give your percocet, lorocet, something like that."
